I am a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at University College London (UCL). My research and teaching explore the cultural, media, and political ecology of nature extraction and energy consumption across Latin America and the Caribbean. It combines critical theory, environmental history, and political ecology. My research has been awarded the “Best Article on Venezuela Award (Humanities)” by the Venezuelan Studies Section of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) in 2021 and the Post-Doctoral Research Award by the Society for Latin American Studies (SLAS) in 2023. I am a member of the Petrocultures Research Group and Guest Researcher (2024-2025) at KTH’s Department of Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences and Engineering (SEED), Sweden. You can find my C.V., current research projects, books, and teaching here.
